In Mesopotamian mythology, Enzu (“lord of wisdom”) is the Sumerian god of the moon. Controlling the rising of the rivers, he influenced the growth and prosperity of the lower Euphrates reed marshes, providing food for Sumerian domestic oxen and cattle and, ultimately, milk and meat.
